Il borgo e la Villa
Cigoli, a small medieval village, is located on a hill off San Miniato.
Cigoli is 30 minutes far from Florence and Pisa. The top of the hill is dominated by an ancient castle (1000 D.C.), where now you can find "Santuario della Madonna Madre dei Bimbi", a catholic sanctuary
Cigoli was the birthplace of a famous painter, Ludovico Cardi (XVI century), who was called "Il Cigoli".
His masterpieces are nowdays kept in Florence (Galleria degli Uffizi) and in Madrid (El Prado). In the heart of Tuscany, San Miniato and Cigoli are also famous for a special kind of a white truffle, called "Tartufo Bianco". They celebrate twice a year, in November and March, two fairs where it is possible to find particular kinds of Tuscan foods.
"Il Cigoli Bed & Breakfast" ,is situated on the top of the hill. Here you can find a twin bedroom, an attic and one bathroom, at the first floor of an 19th century villa.
All rooms are equipped with an independent heating, air conditioning and colour TV (see photo gallery). From outside one can enjoy a wonderful view of the valley below with the mountain in the back round.
A familiar atmosphere will allow you to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing time.
